Antique Hardware Restoration

Al Bar-Wilmette Platers restores historic hardware and metal fixtures. Homeowners find that, with our help, the original door hardware looks as good as the day it was first installed. We restore metal finishes, supply missing parts, repair lamps and chandeliers, refurbish locks, and plate new hardware to match historic finishes.

We polish or plate door hinges to look brand new and plate the screws to match. In addition, Al Bar-Wilmette Platers has one of the country's largest collections of salvage door hardware to help you complete your set of door knobs and face plates. If you're missing a part, be sure to let us know. We cast missing pieces.

Each year we develop new exciting finishes to meet the needs of customers. If you're specifying period hardware, don't settle for a hardware catalogue's limited options. Restore the original hardware to preserve the integrity of your home. Whether you want to match the finish of antique hardware or come up with something unique, Al Bar-Wilmette Platers can help you find a solution.
